Origins offers a variety of ribbons. Why get a ribbon? Or a bunch of them? Sure, the colors are cool, look impressive and intimidate your opponents ... but ribbons also give you an economic way to enjoy what interests you most in gaming. Pay a single flat fee to get into a multitude of gaming events or seminars specific to your ribbon. Participate in a few events, and your ribbon cost is more than covered. Then you can keep playing covered events at no additional cost!
The price of the games individually depend on the games but a good rule of thumb is $2 for every 2 hours of gaming so if you plan on playing 8am until 10pm with a reasonable break for life sustaining activities you might play 12 hours a day and that would be $12 a day of gaming. The ribbons are a substantial savings but limited in what they cover. (If you like board games but really want to play that Paranoia RPG the RPG won’t be covered by a ribbon designated for board games).
Although the date on the ribbons say Wednesday morning, Ribbons are good for the entire show.
If you have a ribbon, it does not guarantee your spot in any one gaming event or seminar; however, ribbon-holders can secure a spot by getting a printed ticket for a ribbon-covered event at no additional charge during online or on-site event registration.
We strongly encourage you to get printed tickets to events you definitely want to attend. Why? Printed tickets held by attendees who do not have ribbons trump ribbons held by attendees who do not have printed event tickets. A ribbon does get you into events ahead of anyone wishing to attend with generic tokens if space is available.
