Welcome to the Origins Game Fair!

2008 will mean many changes to Origins, starting with the name. We are now the Origins Game Fair!

Why change the name? Because Origins is the place you come to play! You bring your friends and family to enjoy games, shop the Exhibit Hall, see artists and make memories. With all the fun and excitement in the air, what better name could there be?

The next change is the length of time you will be able to experience the Origins Game Fair to five full days! Many of you know, for the past few years there have been some select events taking place on Wednesday. We have encouraged you to pick up your badges early and take part in these offerings.

And many of you have!

With more and more people beginning their Origins Experience on Wednesday, we will be giving you a more wide selection of events on Wednesday. But remember, you can only participate in Wednesday events if you purchase a Full-Show Pass.

If you don’t know anyone who has been to Origins and you want to check it out, you can purchase a Fair-Only Pass. A Fair-Only Pass entitles you to explore the Exhibit Hall, the Art Show and the demonstration booths lining the main corridor. The cost for the Fair-Only Day Pass is $3 per person or $10 for a family of 4 or more. These passes will only be available at the show, Saturday and Sunday only. If you see an event you want to participate in, simply upgrade to a Single Day Badge at the show.

The 2008 Origins Game Fair will have the signature events you keep coming back for year after year. The Play With The Creator Series, Origins Theme Tracks, Smithee and Origins Awards, Origins War College, Teacher’s Hall Pass, and much more!

Find out about the Origins experience by chatting with gamers and past attendees in our staff-moderated Origins Forum.

Coming soon: more on programs, events, special guests and other offerings! Keep checking back to find out how you can experience it all at Origins Game Fair.

While some of our attendees appreciate periodic reminders others do not wish to receive emails from us. In an effort to meet the wishes of as many of our attendees as possible GAMA uses an opt in Google group to send out any reminders. If you wish to receive these announcements please use this link to the Origins Announcements Google Group and sign up today.

It's never too early to volunteer!

Want to get your Origins badge for free? How about your hotel cost covered? Or vouchers good for use in the Exhibit Hall and Columbus area? Then consider volunteering at Origins 2008! Check out our Volunteers page for more information.
